Here at PSN, we’re gearing up for a Philadelphia Eagles-less Super Bowl in Las Vegas & there’s never been a better time to get in on the action (I think that’s the DraftKings tagline).
All week, we’re going through prop bets for the Chiefs and 49ers by each position, and the exciting rookie from SMU is next: Rashee Rice. The only thing more certain than Andy Reid calling a screen pass is how excited we are for the big game, so let’s make some money on Patrick Mahomes second-favorite target.

Rashee Rice | Kansas City Chiefs
Rashee Rice Receiving Yards | O/U 67.5 Yards | -115
Not only is Rice averaging 74.3 yards per game this postseason, but he’s also seeing tremendous volume. His 8.3 targets per game alone should justify you hitting the over on the Chiefs’ rookie.
Despite a star-studded defense, the 49ers boast a relatively middling secondary, surrendering the 14th most passing yards in the NFL. If there’s a Chiefs’ receiver that might scare them, and you could argue there isn’t, Rice would be the man.
You aren’t getting fantastic odds (what’s new?), but you can stack this with Rice Anytime TD scorer, and all of a sudden, you’ve got plus odds.
PSN Pick | Rice O/67.5 receiving yards
Who will catch the first pass? | Rashee Rice (+112) v. Travis Kelce (-138) | FanDuel
Oh, my Spidey Sense is tingling. Quick bubble screen to Rice to settle into the offense – yes, please. Rice, who broke the Chiefs rookie record for reception on Christmas, would need 11 total receptions to break the Super Bowl rookie reception record set by Joseph Addai in 2006. Why not start early – especially given we’d expect some significant attention paid to Taylor Swift’s boyfriend?
It scares me that ‘the script’ might have Kelce scampering for a 15-yard gain to kick things off (for an early shot of Swift, of course), but we’re looking for value, and considering this is essentially a coin flip, I like the plus odds on Rice.
PSN Pick | Rice +122
First Touchdown Scorer | Rashee Rice | +850
For those of you who have been following, I also love Noah Gray (now +5500) as the first touchdown scorer, but Rice has to be the safer money.
Rice hasn’t scored since the Wildcard Round against the Miami Dolphins, but that was the game’s first touchdown. Rice has been responsible for the first Kansas City touchdown three times this season, even catching the first score from Jerick McKinnon against the New England Patriots.
For those of you who are a bit meeker, no shame. You can get Rice at +130 as an Anytime Touchdown Scorer.
PSN Pick | It’ll probably be Isiah Pacheco, but let her rip
