Here at PSN, we’re gearing up for a Philadelphia Eagles-less Superbowl in Las Vegas & there’s never been a better time to get in on the action (I think that’s the DraftKings tagline). All week, we’re going through prop bets for the Chiefs and 49ers by each major position and it wouldn’t be the internet if we didn’t start with the quarterbacks, and more specifically, Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes Passing Yards | 262.5 Yards | O/U -110
In seventeen career postseason games, Mahomes has eclipsed 262.5 passing yards at a clip of 65%. The bad news is he’s yet to accomplish that feat in the 2024 NFL Playoffs, funny enough throwing for 262 yards in their victory against the Miami Dolphins.
If this playoff runs been any sort of template, we should expect him to repeat that pattern barring a shootout (much more unlikely than some of the big names in this game would have you believe).
His 6.18 yards per attempt against the Baltimore Ravens in that AFC Championship marks the lowest total of his 6-year postseason career. Mahomes can play well without chucking the ball for 300+ yards and I think we see that pattern continue.

Will Patrick Mahomes throw a touchdown pass in the 1st Quarter | YES +210
This postseason, Mahomes has thrown a first-quarter touchdown in two of three games, once to Rashee Rice and again last week to Travis Kelce.
I like Mahomes & Andy Reid on a script and although the 49ers haven’t allowed a first-quarter passing touchdown this postseason, the Lions were able to score twice early in the NFC Championship. This one is fun and gives some nice juice if you think the Chiefs can get up early on Kyle Shannahan’s defensive unit.

And just because I don’t believe Mahomes breaks any passing records, doesn’t mean I think he’ll meekly disappear into the night.
Touchdowns are touchdowns, no matter how you get them, but some level of Kelce + general trickery within the 49ers ten-yard line have me confident that Mahomes will hit at least two passing touchdowns on the final Sunday of the year.
He’ll need to have at least that to lock in another Superbowl MVP award and if you think Mahomes hasn’t thought about adding that to his legacy. . . well, I bet he has thought about it, is all (too bad they don’t give you a car anymore – thanks, Ford).
