Most people already know that the Eagles worked out North Dakota’s Carson Wentz recently, but what they didn’t know was that Wentz actually dined with members of the Eagles Organization.

(Hat tip to @John_Pisula for the James Bond level work and to both Brandon Gowton & BGN for publishing the original article.)

The tale even has a happy ending as John was able to meet both Head Coach Doug Pederson and Owner Jeffery Lurie.

Also at the meal was Offensive Coordinator Frank Reich and Howie Roseman, the executive vice president of football operations.

This isn’t exactly groundbreaking news. It’s quite normal for teams to dine with prospects following a workout to evaluate their character and personality. With everybody who has a say in how the Offense is run being there, it’s hardly surprising that the Eagles wanted to talk to Wentz. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was the case for the other three Quarterbacks who worked out privately with the Eagles this week.

Pederson has already stated he prefers a more hands on approach when scouting players and there’s no better way of evaluating someone’s mentality than talking to them one-on-one.

But after a speculation storm surrounding the Eagles potentially drafting up for Wentz, seeing these kind of photos is definitely interesting. It’s also worth noting that it wasn’t just Doug Pederson and Roseman at the workout. We already knew that Jeffery Lurie was joining them on this QB evaluation tour but we didn’t know that Frank Reich would be joining them.

The Eagles draft direction is a mystery to everyone at this stage, but if they do like what they see from Carson Wentz, it’s going to be a thrillride in the run up to the draft and beyond.
