NBA Odds: The Philadelphia 76ers have been in a torrid run of form as of late. With Joel Embiid sidelined and the injury bug injecting its venom, Philly is 2-8 in its last 10 but was able to get past the struggling Wizards to steady the ship last time out.
Most recently, the Sixers traded for hometown hero, Kyle Lowry. While the move is a little later than most fans would’ve liked, it certainly takes some of the strain off of Tyrese Maxey and company, as do the trade deadline additions of Buddy Hield and Cameron Payne.

After a red-hot start to the season, the train was promptly halted by a string of injuries that have proved too much for the Sixers to overcome. They still sit 5th in the Eastern Conference in spite of the recent slide, 9 games back of the conference-leading Boston Celtics.
There is something to be said for Daryl Morey’s aggressiveness at the deadline, as he sought to bring some starting-level talents in to negate the ongoing injury crisis. It might not be enough to completely make up for the loss of the most dominant player in the NBA, Joel Embiid, but it should help stop the bleeding.
The team is hopeful that last years’ MVP will be able to return to action in time for the postseason. So if you’re bullish on the Sixers being able to do just enough to sneak into the playoffs, then getting +2200 on them to win it all is a very good price considering how dominant they were to start the season.
Sure, their playoff record is questionable at best in recent years, but Nick Nurse has a 23-19 record in the postseason and that of course includes going the distance to win the 2019 NBA Championship. Could he be the man to unlock the potential of this team?
