Philadelphia: We are only 4 Weeks until March Madness begins with Selection Sunday on March 17 and all of college basketball keeps their push to make the case why they should make the tournament. Let’s take a look at the Philly teams in their push for March Madness

 

Temple:
Fran Dunphy and the Temple Owls would go 2-0 last week with wins over SMU & South Florida

The Owls will now get ready to take on Tulsa on February 23 at Temple to increase their chances to make the NCAA Tournament.

Villanova:
Jay Wright & Villanova Wildcats went 1-1 last week with a win over Providence, followed by a gut-wrenching loss to St John’s

Game recap: Eric Paschall leads #13 Villanova to victory over Providence

This week, the Wildcats will try to get back to their winning ways as they head on the road for the next 2 games starting on February 20 at Georgetown and then on February 24 at Xavier.

 

Penn:
Steve Donahue and the Penn Quakers had an interesting week going 1-1 as both of their games would go to overtime as they take down Dartmouth and lost to Harvard, both games were at the Palestra and the Quakers are on the outside of making the Ivy League Tournament as only the Top 4 make it.

Game recap: AJ Brodeur leads Penn Quakers in overtime win vs Dartmouth

The Quakers will try to go 2-0 this week as they take on Columbia & Cornell on February 22 & 23 at the Palestra.

 

LaSalle:
Ashley Howard & the LaSalle Explorers would have a split week by going 1-1 which saw a win over Duquesne and loss to Saint Louis

This week the Explorers will look to go 2-0 as they take on ST Bonaventure and then home battle with Richmond

 

Drexel:
Zach Spiker & the Drexel Dragons would not have a good week as they would go 0-2 with losses to James Madison & Towson.

The Dragons will try to get back to their winning ways as they take on Delaware on February 23 at Drexel

 

Saint Joseph’s:
Phil Martelli & the Saint Joseph’s Hawks did not have a good week as they went 0-2 with losses to St Bonaventure & Davidson

The Hawks will look to rebound as they take on UMass on February 23 at UMass

Villanova’s Saddiq Bey was named Big East Rookie of the Week

Temple Shizz Alston, Jr was named American Conference Player of the Week

Temple Shizz Alston, Jr & Penn AJ Brodeur were named Big 5 Co-Players of the Week
