PSN Villanova basketball recruiting update: Anfernee Simmons, Jahvon Quinerly, Hoops mania aftermath and More

4 star combo guard David Duke was scheduled to visit Villanova October 5th but instead canceled and decided to visit Providence. Providence has been the favorite for Duke’s services and it seems that Villanova could be out as suitors for Dukes commitment.

The no.1 rated combo guard in 2018 5 star Anfernee Simmons recently confirmed to me that Villanova has been recruiting him. Simmons recently de-committed from Louisville after the FBI investigation hit the program. There are many programs after the Florida prospect including Florida, Florida state and South Carolina who all had in-home visits with Simmons recently.

Arizona commit Jahvon Quinerly could be on his way out of Arizona. Arizona assistant Emmanuel Richardson was indicted on federal charges for transferring bribery money to Quinerlys mom.

5 star PF Shareef O’Neal, hall of famer Shaquille O’Neal’s son, could be heading to Kentucky according to the 247 crystal ball prediction. Quinerly could possibly be the first one out and before he committed to Arizona, Villanova was his top school. I recently ran a poll with Villanova fans and heavy majority of fans would love to have him if he de-committed.

VUSports recently had an interview with high 4 star 2019 center Aiden Igiehon. He said Villanova is one of the schools he is interested in and they are also recruiting him hard. Igiehon was in attendance for Villanova hoops mania, his recruitment is one to keep a close eye on as he remains a top target for Villanova.

5 stars Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine both visited Villanova twice in a 7 day span on September 23rd and September 30th during Villanova hoops mania. Lewis and Antoine continue to visit Villanova which is a good sign of heavy interest from the duo.

The wildcats offered high 4 star point guard Justin Moore. Moore is a high level scorer who knows how to make players around him better. The DeMatha Catholic star is the 65th ranked prospect, 10th ranked point guard and 2nd ranked player in Maryland by 247 for 2019 Moore also attended hoops mania.

There were many talented 2020 prospects in attendance for hoops mania including 5 star PF Terrance Williams .4 stars Lynn Greer III, Elijah Hutchins-Everett, and Noah Collie were among them.

Talented 2020 forwards Myles Stutes, Zed Key and point guard Neils Lane also attended along with 2021 SF prospect Trey Patterson. The night was exciting as always which was headlined by a performance from rap star French Montana. Villanova is after a lot of talented prospects in the 2020 class including 4 star shooting guard Che Evans who I interviewed for VUSports. He said he is very interested in Villanova who also visited on the 23rd and hoops mania but has not yet received an offer.
