Eagles haunted by ghost of Offense past in loss to Redskins

It was always going to be an intense boxing day, everyone was prepared for that. But what most Eagles fans weren’t prepared for was a long journey home and a second consecutive season without playoffs. The Redskins clinched the division tonight as the Eagles fell to their rivals 38-24..but the blame wasn’t to be placed on a weakened secondary…mostly

As opposed to the obvious assumption, the Eagles penultimate game of their 2015 campaign saw a compilation of their greatest flaws from 2015 combined with a statistically impressive Sam Bradford.

It was obvious that Bradford was aggitated towards the end of the game…in fact, I don’t really think that sums it up accurately enough..

Bradford went 37/56 and a season high 380 yards…with a single touchdown and no picks…380 yards…and one touchdown. Why?

The Eagles classics, drops..fumbles..ridiculous penalties..miscues…poor play calling…all of it leaving Bradford angered to say the least.

It’s not quite clear what went wrong in Philadelphia this Christmas..but it was almost as if they were visited by the ghost of Christmas past and were forced to watch back every single error they have made Offensively come back to haunt them.

A combined total of 45 rushing yards replicated a similar scenario to what we saw in week one where Bradford threw over 50 times..tonight he threw three more passes than he did in that agonising opening fixture.

Sure the Defense had its own list of problems but the main reason behind tonights loss was the only thing the Eagles have been consistent at all year…being inconsistent.

We will get into more detail and examine where it all went wrong in the coming days but for now all that matters is this:

The Eagles will not make the playoffs for the second time running.
Sam Bradford actually played very well despite the occasional bad read.
Something HAS to change in the Eagles backfield.
The Tight Ends were utilised much more heavily..to varying success.
The Receivers as a package need a complete overhaul.
