DeMeco Ryans extends Eagles contract

The Philadelphia Eagles have resigned linebacker DeMeco Ryans to a 1-year contract extension. The new contract will keep the two time Pro Bowler at the team through the 2016 season.

Ryans leads the Eagles in tackles (390) since being traded to Philly in a deal with the Houston Texans during the 2012 offseason. Ryans has risen incredibly quickly through the ranks to establish himself as the undisputed leader of the Eagles’ defense.

2013 saw him reach career highs in Tackles, Sacks and Interceptions as he lead the Eagles’ defense to conceding 21-points-or-less in nine consecutive games.
