The Premier League is back this weekend after some rescheduled due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and while there isn’t a full Saturday 3pm BST/10AM EST slate on the cards, there is still plenty of action for bettors to get behind. Here’s a quick glance at Saturday’s games:
Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Not only is this a bit of a mismatch on paper, but the two teams could not be trending in more opposite directions. Manchester City were able to defeat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League during the week, while it’s been 2 weeks since Wolves have played a competitive game. Their last was a 1-0 loss to Southampton.
There’s only one way to bet this game, and that’s on Erling Haaland to score. it doesn’t matter when, how, how many, or what the odds are. The man is just a human cyborg and has 13 goals in 8 games for his new club. I’m not betting against him under any circumstance.
AFC Bournemouth vs Newcastle United
Eddie Howe will be hoping for a pleasant homecoming as he looks to guide Newcastle to a win over his former club. However, it’s his former club that may provide the value here. Newcastle will be without both Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes and while they have 4 points in their last 5 games, they’ve all come from draws.
Bournemouth do have a tendency to leak goals and their -13 GD is the worst in the league. A ‘Both Teams To Score’ bet could be a way to get the best of both worlds.
Leicester vs Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs are piping hot right now and are riding a seven-game winning streak at home across all competitions. They’re also undefeated in league games this season. Leicester, meanwhile, are leaking goals and have lost four of their last five games. It’s hard to imagine the Foxes getting anything from this game considering the star power that Spurs are housing. A win for Spurs feels like a very realistic possibility, so parlaying Spurs with Manchester City may well be the best route to go here in order to get the most out of your bet.
