The PGA Tour heads to TPC Potomac this weekend for the Wells Fargo Championship and there’s a huge field for bettors to peruse. Here are the best deep-value plays this week.

Francesco Molinari

To-win: +10000
Top-5: +1600
Top-10: +800

Molinari has won at this course before, back in 2016 by a blistering score of -21 during his stunning summer run. He’s not the longest off the tee, but he’s accurate and there is a lot of rough surrounding these fairways. If Molinari can land in comfortable spaces off the tee, then he’s the type of golfer who can get it to the green relatively easily. As a former winner at this course and someone who’s also came 8th here before, it’s hard not to take a punt on those long odds.

Ryan Armour

To win: +20000
Top-5: +3500
Top-10: +1600

Over the last 36 rounds, Armour has been one of the most accurate off the tee in this field, gaining an average of 1.4 shots per round. Add in the fact he has a 36th, and 15th place finish in his last 3 events along with a 2nd place finish at this course a few years back, and it’s hard not to see the value in a golfer that’s trending in the right direction, is excelling in the most important metric around TPC Potomac and has had previous success here.

Joel Dahmen

To win: +6000
Top-5: +1200
Top-10: +500

Dahmen is in a similar boat to Armour in that he’s had two really impressive recent rounds (29th & 12th) and is an accurate striker of the golf ball who has had success here in the past, with a 23rd. place finish on the cards. The odds are nowhere near as appealing, but he’s an interesting pivot if you fancy a slightly better player on paper.

Brandon Wu

To win: +10000
Top-5: +1600
Top-10 +800

It’s hard to overlook Brandon Wu. his course-record round on Sunday was exceptional and he’s a young player that’s growing in confidence with every round he plays. He’s come 2nd, 21st, and 28th in his last three starts, and is a solid ball-striker, averaging in the upper echelon of golfers in every key metric. If he can ride that momentum, there’s good value on a top-10 finish here.
