Penn state Recruiting update: The latest on Parsons, Oweh and more

The Penn state Nittany lions 2018 recruiting class is going to be another special one with a ranking of no.4 in the country including 10 top 300 players, one 5 star, twelve 4 stars and ten 3 stars.

There are three 4 star recruits that seem to be the top 3 targets left: 5 star DE Micah Parsons, 4 star DE Tyreke Smith, and 4 star DE Jayson Oweh. All 3 seemed to be a tug of war with Big Ten rival Ohio State, but things have changed in the past month.

Micah Parsons was getting so many predictions to go to Ohio State, but the no.1 player in Pennsylvania who committed early to Penn state. A recruit wanting to enjoy his recruitment is nothing new, with the recruit  even receiving his dream offer from Oregon. Parsons and his family are close; he mentioned to me that his family was all he had. He told me earlier this year that he wasn’t returning for a visit to Happy Valley. Parsons been spending a lot of time in Ohio State leaving top recruiting boards to think he was an Ohio state lean. Month’s later, Parsons’ Teammate and 4 star Penn state commit Shaquon Anderson Butts committed to Penn state and predicted Parsons would follow suit.

A game where Ohio State lost to Oklahoma led to Parsons commentng on Ohio state’s quarterback situation saying they needed a change. After that situation and what Butts said, I contacted Parsons and asked him if he was going to visit, he then said yes.

I feel Parsons will commit to Penn state but don’t feel their competition is Ohio state, instead it’s Nebraska.

Jayson Oweh to me is the second most athletic defensive end out the 3. For his services, there is still a battle between Ohio state and Penn state. Tyreke Smith is from Ohio and has been a lean by recruiting analysts to go to Ohio State all year.

Recently the tides have changed, Smith also has a close relationship with Penn state and everything is pointing toward him and Oweh coming to PSU as both have the same relationship with Nittany lions.

4 star defensive end Dorian Hardy recently just de-committed which could be a sign that all 3, who are all committing at the Under Armour all-American game, will be going to Penn state.

Penn state’s 2018 class having a recent de-commit would give Penn state the NCAA recruiting limit of 25 if Parsons, Oweh, and Smith Commit. 2018 4 star offensive linemen Rasheed Walker was looked at as a Penn state lean but momentum has shifted and has been very quiet as of late on his recruiting with a recent visit to Virginia Tech.

That leaves us with 4 star WR and Penn state legacy Solomon Enis a big 6-4 dynamic playmaker who is still a Penn state lean and this is the guy I think will still end up a lion somehow. He has recently had a visit to Utah which went extremely well and he had another visit to check out the Miami Hurricanes, Enis is also a Penn state lean.
