Report: Carson Wentz to start against Browns if healthy

As if there wasn’t enough Eagles news to discuss, it looks as though the Carson Wentz show could well and truly be underway in Philadelphia.

With Bradford traded, it looked as though Chase Daniel was going to be the starter, at least to begin with. Wentz threw just 24 passes in preseason prior to suffering a hairline fracture in his ribs, causing him to miss the remaining games. But today’s reports suggest that if he’s’s Wentz that will be starting against the Browns, not long-term backup Chase Daniel.

Wentz had a progressive Training camp followed by a flurry of impressive preseason passes in high pressure situations. Although he has been regarded by many as being someway off starting, the Eagles coaching staff were beyond impressed with what they saw against the Bucs.

If Wentz is healthy, the number two overall pick could be starting much sooner than any of us anticipated.
