Darren Sproles is yet to participate in Eagles OTA’s..the rest is all speculation. At least that’s the message the veteran running back himself is sending out through social media.

There has been a lot of talk regarding the future of Darren Sproles over the last couple of days. First it was reported that the Eagles had actually received trade offers during the draft, those reports were denied heavily by Doug Pederson in a press conference on Tuesday.

From there things began to snowball. We heard murmurs of certain teams who had been in contact with the Eagles regarding Sproles but nothing was confirmed. Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole claimed that the 32 year old was actually looking for a long-term future in a video earlier today..claiming:

“Sproles is looking for a long-term deal as he enters his age 33 season. This is going to be a key component of whether any team will be willing to trade for Sproles..”

It’s this rumor that Sproles is shutting down so adamantly. It also appears as though Mark Ingram knows more about the situation than most. Sproles retweeted this after claiming his absence had nothing to do with a new contract.

When exactly the Eagles running back is going to return to offseason activities is still unknown. But it appears as though there may not be as much substance to the rumors flooding social media in recent days as once thought.
