The Eagles have officially announced the hiring of both a new Defensive Line Coach and an Offensive Quality Control Coach just days after agreeing to terms with seven new faces.
Chris Wilson, who worked with Fletcher Cox back in his college days worked as USC’s Defensive Line Coach last year. After playing as a linebacker for Oklahoma, he turned to coaching in 1993. His last five years at the college level have seen some great progression, going from a DE coach at his former team to becoming the DC for Mississippi St. He now takes his first job in the NFL.
As aforementioned, the Eagles also hired a new Offensive Quality Control Coach/WR assistant in the way of Joe D’Orazio. D’Orazio will work alongside new WR coach and former Eagles receiver Greg Lewis. Last year he worked as the Tight-Ends coach for Columbia but more interestingly also has a connection to Andy Reid. D’Orazio worked alongside Reid as his senior assistant.
This most likely puts a bow on the Eagles coaching staff this season after hiring/extending close to 20 members of staff in the last few weeks..the Eagles have secured most positions early to install a sense of familiarity. Now the attention turns to the players…
