Flyers set to honor Briere

The Flyers have announced that they will honor one of the leagues most successful playoff stars Danny Briere before their home game against Buffalo on October 27th.

It was announced Monday that after 17 years, the 37 year old would retire. Briere joined the Flyers in 2007 and made his impact imminently. The season after he had joined, the team picked up 20 more wins and went all the way to the conference finals.

Just two years later, Briere then set the franchise record for playoff points, picking up 30 in 23 games and in doing so guiding his team to the Stanley Cup Finals.

We could talk for hours about his greatest moments, but Briere always came alive when the pressure was at its highest and will go down as a great.
