Top 5 Nick Foles Philadelphia moments

So after an intense few months being an Eagles fan, we thought it was time to accept that the future is very uncertain. One thing that we can all agree on though is that Nick Foles truly bled green. His stellar 2013 season wasn’t replicated in 2014 but he still had flashes of brilliance, the Rams have acquired one very talented young man. So before we see him run out onto the field in a colour that isn’t midnight green, we decided to recap his five finest moments in an Eagles Jersey.

#5 The birth of a hero

With Vick sidelined, a rookie Nick Foles stepped onto the field following a sarcastic comment from Kelly saying that it would take 27 touchdowns for Foles to take the starting job in Philly. This may not have been a career defining performance from the rookie but it was his first win as an NFL starter. The final play of the game saw a 1 yard pass to Jeremy Maclin to seal the deal and win the respect of his teammates. For Philly fans who at the time thought a team without Vick could spell tragedy, were not only relieved but also excited. There was a new kid in town who was not only showing confidence in the pocket and on the run, but who shone in media interviews with a humble personality. This was the start of an incredible yet short journey in Philly.

Before that touchdown, Foles threw his first ever NFL touchdown in emphatic fashion. Can;t quite remember how impressive this was for a kid that not many had heard of? Watch it again..

#3 The Snow Bowl

Everyone remembers the snow bowl. 13-0 down to the Lions and the field as white shaving foam. Shady McCoy turned the fortunes of the team but it was Nick Foles who came alive in the second half with some simply amazing passes. A few of them are featured here. To throw that accurate consistently is a real skill, to do it in the freezing cold with a few inches of snow beneath you…Foles won a lot of people’s hearts that day.

#2 We’re from Philly, we fight.

Last year was a tough one for Nick Foles. One game however was especially tough. The Redskins beat him up. There is no other way to describe it, he was targeted, he was hit, again and again. But again and again Foles got up. The fuming Redskins took a late hit on Foles when Chris Baker took his frustration too far. Jason Peters and the entire team rallied behind their leader and it led to a brawl..but after that, something inspiring happened. Foles got up again. He threw completions, touchdowns and won the game. A battered and bruised Quarterback simply would not let up and in return, not only demonstrated how much of a leader he is, but how much heart he has.

#1 The record breaker

It would be rude to not have this as our number one Nick Foles moment. The day Nickfolean Dynamite went down in history by equalling the record of seven touchdown passes thrown in a single game. Sure the Raiders defence isn’t exactly the LOB but give Foles the credit he deserves. THAT was a career defining performance. Personally, we hope he flourishes in St Louis and turns into the star he was born to be. Thanks for the memories Foles, thanks for the memories.
