Phillies look sharp but held to a tie against Yankees

Philadelphia headed into the Grapefruit League after a very uncharacteristic loss to Tampa university and it wasn’t exactly an easy match to start the league. However, going into the ninth the Phillies had a 5-1 lead over The Yankees..until they scored four runs in the final inning to tie the Phillies, 5-5 at Bright House Field.

Mario Hollands, left hander for the Phillies simply could not perform under pressure it seemed as he allowed five hits and four runs in the ninth.

It was Ryan Howard who put Philadelphia on the board with a fourth-inning single to score with Galvis and Asche also getting their names on the sheet. Despite the collapse in the final inning, there were a lot of promising signs in comparison to what we saw just a few days ago. Next up, Philadelphia make the short trip to George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on Wednesday to play the Yankees for a second tim Kevin Slowey will get the start after right-hander Harang was scratched. Rumours suggest that he had actually visited a chiropractor prior to the statements that he wasn’t feeling 100%. A very safe call by the Phillies. However Harang could make his first start on Monday against the Orioles.
