The injury-riddled Philadelphia 76ers provided an update on the currently injured center Andre Drummond. Before the Sixers’ matchup against the Miami Heat, the team announced that Drummond would miss the next five games and be re-evaluated in a week.
Drummond has missed eight consecutive games, dealing with a sprained left toe and injury he’s dealt with on and off for most of the season. As this update was announced before the Sixers’ game against the Heat, Drummond will definitively miss the Sixers’ upcoming games against the Raptors, Knicks, Bucks, and Timberwolves. The next game he could be active for would be on April 7 against the Miami Heat, but that is no guarantee.

In 40 games for the Sixers this season, Drummond has averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds, playing 18.8 minutes a night. He has also made an impact on the defensive side, averaging 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals.
This is Drummond’s second stint with the Sixers. The longtime Detroit Pistons signed a two-year, $10 million contract in the offseason with a player option to rejoin the Sixers after stints in Brooklyn and Chicago. With only eight games left in the season, hopefully, Drummond will be able to return before the season ends.
