The Masters is now just a few weeks away which means excitement on the PGA Tour is ramping up. This week sees a stacked field head to Copperhead Course in Florida for the 2024 Valspar Championship. As far as betting goes, there are plenty of enticing options to choose from. Here are 5 of our favorites:

Sam Burns

To win: +1400
Top 5: +320
Top 10: +165

Sam Burns won the Valspar Championship in both 2021 and 2022 before a 6th place finish in 2023. He clearly enjoys playing around this course and should be a safe bet to enjoy another strong performance this weekend.

Burns comes into this event ranking 12th in putting average, and 20th in strokes-gained total. He’s also made the cut in every event he’s played in this season, finishing in the top 10 on 5 occasions.

Maverick McNealy

To win: +5000
Top 5: +1000
Top 10: +450

McNealy is coming off of a top-10 finish at The Players Championship and has been in good form this year. While he does struggle on approach, he actually ranks 2nd in scrambling according to the PGA Tour website, which explains how he’s been able to progress very steadily this season.

He started out the year shaky but has now made 6 cuts in a row including 3 top-15’s. He did great at the WM Phoenix Open (6th) and again at The Players Championship. Both are higher profile events and he’s beginning to heat up in time for Major season. It could be wise to ride the trajectory of a player who is long off the tee and picking up momentum when scrambling.

Doug Ghim

To win: +3500
Top 5: +750
Top 10: +350

I always find myself going back to Doug Ghim. He’s another player who is consistently overlooked when it comes to the odds markets despite posting some great SG numbers and riding a nice run of form. He finished 16th at The Players Championship and after missing two cuts at the beginning of the year, has finished no lower than that position in the five events since.

This is a slightly higher strength of field, but Ghim’s impressive 4th SG Total rank on PGA Tour.com highlight just how consistent he’s becoming, and at this price, he’s a steal.

Top-10 sleeper: Taylor Moore +1300

The winner of last year’s Valspar Championship, Taylor Moore is coming off of a solid 31st place finish at The Players Championship and is yet to miss a cut this season. Getting +1300 on Moore to finish inside the top-10, a mark he’s yet to hit this season, feels like some real value. Although he’s not found the top-10, he ranks 23rd in GIR% and if he can find some accuracy off the tee, could well be a factor a round a course he’s bound to feel confident at.

Top-10 Sleeper: Taylor Montgomery +1200

Another player who fits the mold of thriving last week, Montgomery is coming off an 11th place finish and has only missed one cut this season along with 3 top-10 finishes.

The 29-year-old ranks 32nd in SG total this season and 3rd in putting. Providing Montgomery can stay red-hot around the greens, there’s no reason he won’t be in the mix this weekend, and +1200 is a price too good to ignore.
