Bills vs Steelers: NFL Wild Card Betting preview

This feels like the biggest mismatch of all the wildcard games and the only real one where there’s a clear runaway favorite. Buffalo enters the playoffs riding a 5-game win streak. Having parted ways with Ken Dorsey, the offense rallied back into life and forced its way to a fourth consecutive divisional title.

As for the Steelers, their playoff fate almost slipped away. A 3-game win streak was just enough to push them past the Bengals back into contention. With the Jags and Colts falling at the final hurdle, an unlikely Pittsburgh travels to a freezing tundra to try and topple the Buffalo Bills.

Why the Bills can win

Frankly, they’re the better team. They’ve made up for lost time over the last month and are firing on all cylinders offensively, while their defense remains as intimidating as ever.

Somehow, Mason Rudolph is 3-0 as a starter this season and has thrown for 719 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 INT since being given the…reins (lol). Will a conservative passing effort be enough to keep up with a top-10-ranked Bills offense?

Sprinkle in the fact that T.J Watt’s status is now unclear, and this just feels like a Mountain too tall for Mike Tomlin’s Steelers to climb.

Why the Steelers can win

If there is any team accustomed to playing in treacherous conditions, it’s the Steelers. While Mason Rudolph isn’t a superstar quarterback, he protects the rock and allows the run-game to really thrive. It’s going to take a lot from Najee Harris to will this team to a win, but he has put up over 230 yards and 3 touchdowns in the last 2 weeks, while the Buffalo run defense is middle of the park in yards allowed.

If the Steelers can play keepaway and ride the run-game, they absolutely have a chance.

Bills vs Steelers: NFL Wild Card Betting pick

Buffalo might be the hottest of all the teams entering the playoffs, and the Steelers are lacking at quarterback. At some point, Mason Rudolph is going to have to step up and make a big play. Does he have that in the locker? I think the Bills cover here.

Bills vs Steelers: Buffalo Bills -9.5
