NFL Week 7 odds: The Philadelphia Eagles endured a reality check on Sunday as the New York Jets, a team who had never beaten them, handed the Birds their first loss of 2023 in embarrassing fashion. There’s no time to lick wounds, however, because the Miami Dolphins come to town this weekend.

Interestingly, the Eagles have opened up as 2-point home favorites for the clash against a team that also owns a 5-1 record and one of the league’s most dominant offenses.

NFL Week 7 odds: Eagles vs Dolphins

Spread: Philadelphia Eagles -2 | Miami Dolphins +2
Moneyline: Philadelphia Eagles -125 | Miami Dolphins +105
Total: Over/Under 52

The Eagles open up as favorites yet again, but this is a very surprising line. Sure, the game might be at home, but being favored against the Miami Dolphins feels very puzzling to anyone who watched Sunday’s game.

The Dolphins dropped 42 on Carolina, 70 on Denver, and have scored 30+ 4 times this season. Philadelphia’s defense was already limping and endured yet more injury setbacks against the Jets. We don’t yet know how serious those injuries are, but even if just one more DB is unavailable, it’s going to hurt a defense that’s already down to bare bones.

On offense, Lane Johnson is going to be missing after suffering an ankle injury. Jack Driscoll stepped up in relief if the future Hall of Famer, but allowed a ridiculously high 8 pressures against the Jets. If he starts again on Sunday, his job will be no easier against a Miami Team ranking 5th in sacks per game.

NFL Week 7 odds: Why you should back the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are still in prime position to become repeat winners of the NFC East, and have one of the deepest rosters in the NFL. We’ve seen flashes of the sheer excellence the team can produce and just how dominant the defense can be. At home, in front of the roaring Philadelphia crowd, there is every reason to believe the Eagles will come out swinging. They’ll be putting extra emphasis on a win against the Dolphins to rebound from the surprising week 6 defeat.

A 5-0 start for the Super Bowl runners-up was an ideal way to start the year and they’ll be keen to show that the loss to New York was just a blip in the road.

As far as the NFL Week 7 odds go, it all looks sunny in Philadelphia.
