Premier League odds: Manchester City are leading favorites

Manchester City-125
Arsenal+450
Liverpool+700
Manchester United+1000
Chelsea+1600

It should come as no surprise to see the defending champs listed as heavy favorites in the Premier League Odds market. City were borderline unbeatable last year and would go on to not only win the league, but the FA Cup AND Champions League, completing their first-ever treble. They became the first team in over 20 years to accomplish this feat and haven’t exactly slowed down this offseason. Spurred on by the record-breaking Erling Haaland, City are the Premier League powerhouse to beat and it’s hard to imagine the league going elsewhere.

Arsenal came close to winning their first title in over a decade before fumbling in ridiculous fashion. A summer of signings that include Kai Havertz and Declan Rice look to bolster the midfield in an answer to Manchester City’s dominance, and there could be some value at +450 if they can start out hot. But keeping track with City, as we know, is no easy feat.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United could be good value plays this year, although, United’s preseason left little to be excited by. Liverpool shipped off Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia and have only made two real signings this Summer – Argentinian World Cup star, Alexis Mac Alister, and Dominik Szoboszlai Szoboszlai. It’s hard to make a case for either team winning the league, as neither look strong enough to hold up against City and Arsenal. The Premier League Odds market seems to hold both teams in a higher regard than Chelsea at least, which is one team I would avoid betting.

Chelsea’s Summer has been shambolic. The front office has failed to replenish the midfield with starting talents and instead favored younger players who will develop in years to come. At that kind of price, betting the spend-friendly Newcastle might well be the better play.
