We’re officially one step closer to the 2023 NFL Season. The Philadelphia Eagles have unveiled their schedule ahead of the upcoming season which means it’s time to dive in and give some bold game-by-game predictions.

Week 1: @ New England Patriots

Tom Brady’s retirement ceremony is happening when the Pats play…*checks notes*…the Eagles.

The Patriots do have a strong defense and playing them on the road is never easy, but this Eagles team is too talented and this opening stretch of games is too important to start on a dud.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 1-0

Week 2: vs Minnesota Vikings – TNF

Kirk Cousins in primetime: Tired.
Eagles slapping the Vikings 24-7 in primetime? Wired.

The Vikings are always a tricky team but once again, this is a winnable affair and one the Eagles really should be able to handle comfortably. It’s their home opener and it’s on primetime.

Fun fact: The Vikes are 1-3 when playing in Philadelphia since 2016.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 2-0

Week 3: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – MNF

The Birds head to Tampa Bay for their second primetime game in two weeks but surprisingly get a long week due to playing in TNF the week before. This should swing momentum in their favor and it’s not like the Bucs are ready to be a feared team just yet. They only have 2 primetime games in 2023…which says a lot.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 3-0

Week 4: vs Washington Commanders

The first divisional game of the year comes in week 4 and the Commanders will likely come into this game on the back of a battering from the Bills.

Sam Howell may be easy pickings if he hasn’t been benched by this point.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 4-0

Week 5: @ Los Angeles Rams

There is every chance that Philly goes 5-0 to start the year, but it’s something that will be needed.

Philly travels to LA to play a once-great Rams team that seems to have lost its sparkle. W.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 5-0

Week 6: @ New York Jets

This could be interesting. Aaron Rodgers at home as a New York Jet.

The Eagles have had quite the history against Aaron Rodgers, and it’s hard to really know what this new-look Jets team will play like. The defense is always feared and there is now a plethora of weapons on an offense that finally has a quarterback to hang its hat on. I think the Eagles could stumble here.

Prediction: Jets win
Record: 5-1

Week 7: vs Miami Dolphins SNF

Tua and Jalen Hurts clash for the first time at the NFL level. The two former Bama teammates both captain explosive offenses in a game that could soon turn into a shootout. If I was a betting man, I’d back the over. But that won’t give us a winner here, so I’m going to go with the Dolphins based purely on the fact that the Jets loss might have knocked the wind from the sails. It’ll be a tight game, but this is a very young defense that could face some trouble.

Prediction: Dolphins win

Record: 5-2

Week 8: @ Washington Commanders

The Commanders could be a total mess at this point and while it would otherwise be a trap game, this is the perfect bounce-back spot after losing to the Dolphins. The Eagles complete the sweep handily.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 6-2

Week 9: Vs Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles NEED to win this game. The second time facing the Cowboys will be on the back of a horrid stretch of games. The Birds get it done.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 7-2

Week 10: BYE

A 7-2 record going into the Bye is exactly what the Doctor ordered. But can the Eagles finish strong knowing that there’s a long storm ahead?

Week 11: @ Kansas City Chiefs

And so the fun begins.

This Super Bowl rematch is going to be a thriller. The Eagles will be coming off a bye and will undoubtedly want revenge on the Chiefs. I think there’s an upset at Arrowhead, bucking the trend of four consecutive Chiefs wins over Philly.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 8-2

Week 12: Vs Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen and the Bills coming to the Linc? This, on paper, would be a huge game after a thunderous victory against KC. However, it’s also a letdown spot. The Eagles have a few more tough battles to fight through and may come out a bit flat in this one which could give the edge to Buffalo.

Prediction: Bills win

Record: 8-3

Week 13: vs San Francisco 49ers

After the amount of yapping Deebo Samuel has done this offseason, anything less than a 300-yard game and a win is a total failure.

I don’t really think it matters who quarterbacks the Niners. The Eagles have enough firepower to go toe-to-toe with them and will want to pick up steam going into next week.

Shanahan fraud watch.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 9-3

Week 14: @ Dallas Cowboys SNF

The Cowboys. On the road. Primetime.

I hate to say this is going to be a loss but this sort of spot just doesn’t typically end well. I’d love for that curse to be broken, but so long as they win in Philly, that’s fine by me.

Prediction: Cowboys win

Record: 9-4

Week 15: @ Seattle Seahawks

Rashaad Penny revenge game, anyone? Maybe. But the Seahawks are a pesky opponent on the road.

With that said, they are very much going through a soft rebuild right now and that could just give the Eagles enough of an edge. It’s a long year and Seattle stumbling might eradicate that ’12th man’ advantage.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 10-4

Week 16: @ New York Giants – Christmas.

Christmas Day on the road against the Giants? I feel like this could be a total coin-flip. The G-men are improving and this sort of spot will obviously favor the home team.

I think the Giants steal one late.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 10-5

Oh, and the over/under on ‘snowballs at Santa’ mentions during the broadcast is 82.5

Week 17: vs. Arizona Cardinals

Jonathan Gannon revenge game. 50 burger. W. Calls for Gannon’s firing echo around the Desert following the most disastrous homecoming the world has ever seen.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 11-5

Week 18 vs. New York Giants

The season is probably over by this point but I could see the Eagles needing to win this game to secure the #1 seed. Cue Giants tears as their playoff hopes once again disappear due to a decision to play the starters.

Prediction: Eagles win

Record: 12-5
