With the NFL draft only days away, The Eagles will look to find players that can sit in their roles during their rookie seasons with hopes of flourishing into stars. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL draft but the possibility of all of these players’ potential will have fans excited. With Philadelphia looking to build on its terrific 2022 season, here’s my mock draft for the Eagles.

10th overall pick- DT Jalen Carter

This feels like a no-brainer at this point. The Eagles are the perfect match for Jalen Carter for various reasons. Jalen Carter fills in an immediate need for the Eagles as he joins a lethal rotation at defensive tackle with Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, and Milton Williams.

I personally think of the off the field issues with Jalen Carter will scare most of his potential suitors away and he’ll fall to the Eagles. You may see a team’s like the Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Bears go in different directions if Carter is on the board.

TRADE!

The Eagles trade away the 30th overall pick to the LA Rams for the 36th overall pick and 77th overall pick.

36th overall pick – WR Jalin Hyatt

It’s no secret that Philadelphia needs a legit WR3 that could be a difference-maker for them. Quez Watkins took a huge step backward last season and missed a big catch in the Super Bowl that could’ve been a difference-maker. Adding Jalin Hyatt to this offense turns the Eagles into a terrifying opponent for opposing defenses.

You can rotate Quez and Hyatt in the slot while also using them on the outside. Hyatt has great breakaway speed and is dangerous with the ball in his hands. Spoiler Alert! He may be the perfect replacement for Quez.

62nd overall pick – S Sidney Brown

The Eagles need a Safety that they can develop from the ground up. Not only that but they need one who is versatile and quick. That screams Sidney Brown. Brown is probably one of the top safeties in this draft and is probably the most versatile one in his position. He can play in the box or single high if need be and be a huge difference-maker.

77th overall pick – TE Darnell Washington

How likely is this? Not so likely but don’t blame me for the system that I used. Darnell Washington would be a great TE2 for the Eagles. At his size, he creates chaos for defenses. He’s a big-body tight end that can be incredible in the passing game and even better in the run game. His blocking ability would heavily attract the Eagles to draft him.

94th overall pick – OL Luke Wypler

Last year, the Eagles drafted Jason Kelce 2.0. So why not do it again and draft Jason Kelce 3.0?! Luke Wypler moves like Kelce and is an increasing blocker that knows how to be effective. Drafting him gives you time to see how Cam Jurgens is at right guard and flirt with the idea of having two players that can either replace Kelce or stay at guard.

TRADE!

Eagles trade the 219th overall pick, a 2024 6th round pick (Tennessee’s pick), and WR Quez Watkins for the 184th overall pick.

184th overall pick- Edge YaYa Diaby

Philadelphia is going to need depth at Edge and YaYa Diaby is a very attractive piece. Plugging him behind Josh Sweat and BG this season would give him time to build on his craft and master his technique.

He had 9 sacks in 2022 and 14 tackles for loss. He’s projected to be a special teamer or a backup in the NFL but I think he could be much more effective than that.

248th overall pick – LB Jeremy Banks

The Eagles need to add some depth at the LB position after losing T.J. Edwards and Kyzir White this offseason. Banks is an aggressive Linebacker that has great speed and instincts. While many will complain about his size, I think he has the talent to make up for it. He’s had some issues in the past off of the field but has made the most of his second chance.
