If you’ve been scrolling through Twitter over the past couple of days, you’re bound to have seen the odd tweet involving Eagles wideout A.J Brown, or Chiefs wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster. Their Super Bowl-related beef has been snowballing over the last 24 hours, so we decided to go back to where it all started to see what exactly is going on.
JuJu Smith-Schuster fires shots on Valentine’s Day
Here’s where it all started. JuJu took to Twitter to troll the Eagles and their fans on Valentine’s Day, referencing the late flag on James Bradberry in Super Bowl LVII that arguably decided the game when all was said and done. The controversial holding call gave the Chiefs a first down and the opportunity to run out the clock and kick a field goal, leaving Jalen Hurts with an impossible task to save the day.
It’s safe to say that Eagles players weren’t thrilled with the childish joke. A.J Brown was one Eagle to clap back at the former Steeler, calling him ’Tik-Tok Boy’ and somewhat evening the score.
JuJu Smith-Schuster posts a VIDEO mocking the Eagles
I’d urge you all to avoid sitting through this, but I feel like it has to be done to fully understand A.J Brown’s retaliation.
The video is all over the place. Genuinely no idea why it was made or what the aim was other than to write arguably the lamest jokes of all time and base the whole thing around the Eagles losing in the Super Bowl. At least the Valentine’s Day joke was funny, this is just…weird.
Brown, who was one of the videos’ targets, really didn’t take kindly to the video. JuJu appeared to mock A.J’s full name, wearing the name tag ‘Aquarius Jefferson’. His real name is of course Arthur Juan. This is presumably what tipped the former Titan over the edge and prompted this response…
A.J Brown wants to take it off screen
Brown tweeted (and later deleted) and dm’d JuJu Smith-Schuster about the video, basically warning JuJu not to keep playing stupid games if he wants to avoid winning stupid prizes.
Say what you want about the video and the reaction, but it’s not a great look for either party. Jalen Hurts was also targeted in the video, but I’d bet my life savings on us never hearing Hurts mention it because that’s just not who he is. I’d like to assume some of that rubs off on Brown, but they are different people and Brown does have every right to feel attacked and upset.
It would behoove the Chiefs to put JuJu through some PR training because at this point it’s frankly embarrassing. Hopefully the saga ends here or can be settled on the field when the two next collide.
Or, I don’t know, do the whole boxing thing and make some money off it.
