The Philadelphia 76ers are signing center Colin Castleton to a 10-day contract, per NBA Insider Jake Fischer. The Sixers will be the third team Castleton has played for this season, appearing in 10 games each for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors.
Castleton will replace Marcus Bagley, whose 10-day contract is set to expire at midnight on April 3.
Having previously signed two 10-day contracts with the Raptors, playing his last game with them on March 24, Castleton unknowingly got to unofficially audition for the Sixers back on March 12, 2025, when the big man played 40 minutes for Toronto, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking 3 shots in the eventual Sixers defeat.
The former Michigan Wolverine and Florida Gator came to the NBA after a great fifth collegiate season for the Gators, where he averaged 16.0 points and led the team in scoring. After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Castleton joined the South Bay Lakers, eventually appearing in 16 games as a rookie for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Castleton has been an impact player in the G League this season, appearing with three different teams and averaging 18.2 points a night on 58.8% shooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Pair that with his 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks a night, and it’s easy to see why the injury-ridden Sixers wanted to take a closer look at the soon-to-be 25-year-old center before this season winds down to a close.
