Now that the regular season is over, the Eagles are well on their way to a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. After shaking up the roster over the last two seasons, Philadelphia has put together a team that can truly make a run in the playoffs.

Now usually teams that finish with the number one seed in their respective don’t have high aspirations when it comes to the following draft. The likely hood is that they would be picking in the later part of the first round. Some playoff teams rarely even have two picks at their disposal but most teams don’t have Howie Roseman.

Thanks to a stellar trade by Eagles GM Howie Roseman, the Eagles will own the Saints’ pick in this year’s draft. After the loss against the Panthers on Sunday afternoon that pick is now in the 10th slot and has an incredible value for a team that will need to retool their roster once again as they’re expected to see several key players sign elsewhere.

On April 4th, 2022, Howie Roseman made a bold trade with the New Orleans Saints. He sent the Saints the 16th pick, the 19th pick, and the 194 pick of the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for the number 18th pick, 101st pick (3rd round), 237th pick (7th round), a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick. What a haul.

Eagles’ last selection at 10th overall

Especially when that haul leads to you having the 10th overall pick in a year where your pick may be in the high 20s to low 30s depending on their outcome in the playoffs. The last time the Eagles were selected at 10th overall was due to a trade that involved the Dallas Cowboys.

Philadelphia jumped the Giants with the aspiration of selecting WR DeVonta Smith. Smith was said to be heavily favored by the Giants and we all know how badly the Eagles needed a receiver to pair with Jalen Hurts. Now that we have all witnessed how great of a pick that was, who do you believe the Eagles will select at 10th overall? Or do you think they’ll make a big trade once again?
