NFL MVP Odds: How does Jalen Hurts fare after week 11?

The Philadelphia Eagles are no longer undefeated and their week 11 clash with the Colts was always going to be aa significant matchup. With the snowball starting to roll down the hill, it was imperative that Jalen Hurts stepped up and led this team to a win, and he did exactly that. His odds to win the NFL MVP award were nearly 40/1 at the beginning of the year. He was actually the favorite to win the award two weeks ago. How has week 11 changed things?

Jalen Hurts might have strung together a very solid effort yesterday, but it was Patrick Mahomes who stole the spotlight. 329 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions. Mahomes commanded the game in a magical way that only he really could’ve, dominating with the help of Travis Kelce and his wideouts.

The race is most certainly narrowing, however. Tua and Hurts are nearly tied in terms of their odds to win the award and Josh Allen finally had a much better showing in Buffalo’s win over Cleveland. He’s still on the outside looking in, as the trio of Mahomes, Hurts and Tua, continue to run clear.

As far as Jalen’s prospects go, his schedule over the next few weeks is ’Titaning’ up. Games against Green Bay, Tennessee, and the New York Giants are going to be very difficult if the Eagles run defense begins to leak again. They did a great job containing Jonathan Taylor, but sustaining that kind of performance is the next challenge. If they can’t, then Hurts is going to have to play like an MVP candidate to keep the Eagles competitive in games against elite-level running backs.

A $50 bet now would still net you over a $160 return, but a few short weeks ago, it would’ve been over $1700!

However, that doesn’t mean it’s too late to bet on Jalen Hurts to win the NFL MVP Award.
