The Philadelphia Eagles are on the road this weekend, paying Zach Ertz and the Arizona Cardinals a visit as their revenge tour rolls on. The Eagles are favored by 5 points (per DraftKings) which seems a little surprising as they’re on the road, but when you dig a little deeper, it isn’t at all. The Eagles should be able to convincingly beat the Cardinals, and here’s why.

The A.J Brown masterclass

To say A.J Brown has lived up to expectations would be an understatement. The former Tennesee Titan exploded out of the gates in week 1 and hasn’t looked back since. He’s had at least 69 yards (nice) in every game so far as an Eagle and now faces a very wobbly secondary.

It’s not that the Cardinals defense is bad per se, but it’s had some shuffles in the secondary as of late that will see Byron Murphy and Trayvon Mullen at the boundary. Murphy has a PFF grade of 63 up to this point, and Mullen’s is 40.4.

Both Jalen Hurts and A.J Brown should be licking their lips here. This is a very winnable matchup that they have to take advantage of.

And on that note…

The Eagles are 2-0 against defenses giving up between 21-25 points per game. It’s a small sample size, but the Cards are being killed on the back end (as we now know) and have given up the 7th most amount of passing yards of any NFL defense. If there’s ever a game for Hurts to take the reins as a passer and strutt his stuff, it’s this one.

Kyler Murray and *checks notes* John from Wawa

Christian Kirk is no longer on the roster and DeAndre Hopkins is playing Farmville 3 on the sideline. Kyler is actively telling his wideouts that they cannot ”be asleep” as he whizzes around trying to thread a needle to a below-average group, and familiar face, Zach Ertz.

This Eagles secondary has been fantastic this season. James Bradberry has been a magnificent addition and Darius Slay continues to age like a fine wine. They should have no dramas in blanketing this group, which means Murray has to run around more, taking on more pressure, and potentially giving the pass-rush something to feast on…providing they can keep up.

Eagles vs Cardinals best bet

A.J Brown’s receiving total this week is 75. His lowest total of the season is 69 and he’s coming up against a vulnerable secondary. If there’s ever a time to back a Brown breakout, it’s right now.

The good news is that you can get a FREE bet on A.J Brown to get more than 75 receiving yards by clicking the link below and signing up to Fanduel.
