The Philadelphia Phillies will be hoping to make it two in a row against the Marlins this evening fresh off a 2-1 win on Tuesday night against Sandy Alcantara. Now 79-62, the Phillies are honing on securing their spot in the postseason and can’t afford to take their foot off the gas now.

Miami has been struggling as of late and even more so against the Phillies. The season series now stands at 11-6 in favor of the Phils, which is a pleasant contrast to what we’ve seen in previous years. The team has now won four games in a row and will be looking to make it five this evening.

Pitching matchup

Kyle Gibson (9-6, 4.57 ERA) vs. Edward Cabrera (5-2, 2.63 ERA)

For a team that has a few really good pitchers, their offense is woeful. If Cy Young Finalist, Sandy Alcantara, couldn’t get past the Phillies and Bailey Falter, then it’s hard to back Cabrerra against Gibson, who has been solid this season. He maintains an ERA of 3.64 against Miami this season.

Betting preview

The Phillies are back to being favorites today after being underdogs yesterday and once again, it’s hard to bet against them when they’re facing a wobbly Miami team. Betting the Phillies and the over in a parlay tonight could be a really profitable way to capitalize on the momentum this matchup brings.
