Does this look familiar to you, Phillies fans?
If so, you’re likely suffering from Metsleftovertosis. This may incubate following an over-exposure to former washed-up Mets.
If you spent too much time watching Jeurys Familia, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard, or Amed Rosario, there’s a good chance you’ve been exposed.
WARNING: prolonged exposure to Wilmer Flores will likely result in an increase of Friends re-runs.
If you or a loved one has ever watched the Mets or any players formerly associated with the Mets, please call a doctor.
Pitching matchup – Wednesday, 6/22 – 4:05p @ Globe Life Field
Phillies Ace is on the mound
Zack Wheeler (6-3, 2.69 ERA) v. Jon Gray (2-3, 4.27 ERA)
Here’s one former Metropolitan that only got better following his departure from the Big Apple. Wheeler’s been on a tear for about a month and a half.
In eight starts since the beginning of May, he owns an ERA of 1.57. Good enough for NL Pitcher of the Month in May. Hopefully, he can salvage this two-game series before the Phils had to San Diego.
Gray has rebounded from a rough start to put together a respectable June effort.
Through four June starts, his 2.52 ERA and 11.2 SO/9 speak for themselves. It should be a good matchup with plenty of strikeouts.
Series Spotlight
Bryce Harper was available to pinch-hit yesterday; the Phillies never needed him. Going 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position made sure of that.
Phillies Daily Fantasy Pick of the Day
JT Realmuto – I choose you. The Phillies’ catcher has had his ups and downs this season, but has a .417 OBP over the last week. Pretty decent value for his position and what he’s proven that he can do.
He’s $2,900 on FanDuel.
Phillies vs. Rangers Betting information
If you parlay Wheeler Over 7.5 S/O with Gray Over 6.5 S/O, you pump out +349 odds on FanDuel. This is almost as close as you get to a guaranteed winner.
