Zack Wheeler will return to the Phillies on Thursday, May 12th, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wheeler missed his previous start against the Mets due to a COVID issue and was placed on the COVID list. Zack’s spot in the rotation was taken by Christopher Sanchez and the Phillies would lose that start in their doubleheader split on Sunday.

Zack will get the start in the first game of a four-game set against LA. Wheeler on the season is 1-3 with a 4.60 earned run average. Wheeler has improved with each start and will be coming off his season-best, a scoreless 7.2 innings against Texas. Wheeler would not earn the decision in this start and the Phillies went on to lose the game.

The first pitch for the Phillies and Dodgers is scheduled for 10:10 Eastern Standard Time. Wheeler will face Tyler Anderson, who comes into this start with a 3-0 record and 2.87 ERA.
