One of the most successful edge rushers in football is on the market, and Philadelphia is ready to take a flier on him. According to a report made by Jason Schultz, the Eagles have shown interest in acquiring 2x All-Pro DE, Chandler Jones.

Chandler Jones is entering season number 11 and has totaled over 100 career sacks playing for the Cardinals and Patriots. He’s totaled over 10+ sacks in seven of the ten seasons he’s played. Jones is 32 years old and coming off a 10.5 sack season with Arizona. Jones has been a relatively durable player. He missed most of the 2020 season due to a torn bicep that cut his season short after five games. He came back in 2021 to still make the pro-bowl however.

Jones has not, and will not be the only free agent target linked to the Eagles, and with the cost he could potentially bring, there is certainly a chance that the Eagles are unable to acquire his services. Jones has made it clear however that he is looking to go to a contender in free agency and is not concerned about the money he would be making on the open market.

As reported, Jones is expected to make north of $15 million in a new deal and has plenty of suitors but none have as big a need as the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles finished in the bottom half of the league in sacks, and are looking for multiple defensive linemen to change that. While many analysts expect the Eagles to go heavy along the defensive line on draft day, the expectation is that they will also be busy in free agency filling as many roster holes as possible.
