After a wait that felt like an eternity, Sixers basketball is finally back as the team will travel down to New Orleans to face off against the Pelicans.

Both teams will be missing big names, but there will still be plenty to watch as Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris take on Brandon Ingram and Devonte’ Graham in both teams’ first taste of NBA action this season.

Injuries

Sixers

Ben Simmons will, of course, miss tonight’s game after he was suspended yesterday for “conduct detrimental to the team.” As of this moment, Simmons is only suspended for this game, but time will tell if that suspension is extended.

Shake Milton will also miss tonight’s game due to a right ankle sprain. There’s currently no timetable for his return, and you can expect Isaiah Joe and Furkan Korkmaz to handle to lead guard duties with both Milton and Simmons out.

Pelicans

Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson will miss tonight’s game against the Sixers as he continues to recover from the broken foot surgery he underwent over the summer. The Pelicans will be hard-pressed to replace Williamson’s production as he’s one of the most uniquely talented players in the league.

When and Where

The Sixers and Pelicans will tip-off tomorrow at 7:00 PM EST, and you can watch it on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The regular season will finally be underway. There will be plenty to watch, from Tyrese Maxey‘s sophomore season, to the rise of Isaiah Joe, to Joel Embiid‘s hopeful MVP campaign.
