The Sixers have had quite a few jersey designs since Nike partnered with the NBA. Here’s a look back at the top 10 jerseys since 2017.

Nike began its partnership with the NBA at the start of the 2017-2018 season. Since the partnership began, Nike has provided the league with apparel, including team jerseys. Nike and the NBA worked together to come up with some cool jersey ideas and colors. The Sixers have had their fair share of different jerseys to represent the city of Brotherly Love since 2017. Here are the jerseys ranked from worst to best:

10. 2020- 2021 Earned Edition

The Sixers have had different iterations of the cream-colored jersey, but this version is TERRIBLE. Sixers Twitter deemed this jersey the TJ Maxx/Marshalls special due to the design on the chest. The blue Liberty Bell with silver numbers just isn’t it. The Sixers began wearing these in the second half of last season, and they should keep these in the past. This was one of the very few misses Nike has had with their NBA jerseys.

9. 2019-2020 Classic Edition

This jersey replicated what the Sixers wore during the 1970-71 season. The font on the jersey looks like bad cursive, and the “Seventy” actually looks like “Severity.” These were worn at home when they did decide to suit up in the classic edition. Sixers fans weren’t really fond of these, and plenty were on sale after the season was over.

8. 2020-2021 City Edition

This jersey was a controversial topic on Sixers Twitter, with fans arguing over whether they liked this edition or not. This was the first black Sixers jersey since the Allen Iverson era, and many were upset because the original black jersey didn’t return. The design is based on historic Boathouse Row and how it looks at night. This version of the city jersey either seems to be loved or hated.

7. 2019-2020 City Edition

Another cream-colored jersey that was worn during the 2019-20 season; these were first and most notably during the Christmas Day matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. This version of the cream jersey is much better than the 2020-21 Earned version. This jersey is clean with a simple Philadelphia across the chest.

6. 2018-2019 City Edition

This jersey was inspired by the Philadelphia-based movies Rocky and Creed. In the Rocky films, he famously trained in a gray sweatsuit while preparing for his iconic fights. In Creed, Adonis Creed also trained in gray sweatsuits as a nod to his trainer and mentor, Rocky. The jersey was said to be inspired by the fighting spirit of Philadelphians.

5. 2018-2019 Earned Edition

Nike simply created an alternative to the gray City Edition jerseys. They made this version white with the same Rocky theme with 13 stars to represent the 13 colonies. This edition was clean and crisp, and the Sixers wore these during their Christmas Day matchup with the Celtics

4. Red Statement Edition

The Red Statement Edition jersey is one of the three jerseys that the 76ers keep in rotation every year. The vibrant red stands out and is one of the better statement editions in the entire league. Sixers fans have mixed reviews about the Statement edition due to the history of games wearing this jersey. The Sixers seem to have the worst luck when playing in the primarily red jersey. The Sixers seem to lose some tough games wearing this edition, and the most notable loss came in game 7 in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Toronto Raptors

3. 2017-2018 City Edition

This rendition of the cream/off-white jersey is the best one out of the three. This edition was inspired by the Declaration of Independence. The color was meant to represent the parchment paper that was signed in Philadelphia in 1776. This jersey was worn during all home games in April 2018 and during the NBA playoffs. The Sixers defeated the Miami Heat in the first round at home in game 5 to advance to the second round wearing this edition.

2. White Association Edition

The standard white jersey is worn by the Sixers every year. Before Nike took over the NBA apparel deal, white jerseys were only worn by the home teams. After the Nike deal, the white jersey wasn’t just a home jersey and could be worn on the road as well. This jersey seems to be the 76ers secondary jersey.

1. Blue Icon Jersey

The Icon Edition is the primary jersey the 76ers wear at home and on the road. It’s a simple blue jersey with white and red trim and numbers. This jersey is one of the cleanest in the NBA and a fan favorite. The Sixers were wearing the Icon edition jerseys during Joel Embiid’s career-high 50-point game last season.

The NBA will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this upcoming season, so we can expect the Sixers to have some new designs to help celebrate. The Sixers should have plenty of jerseys to rock next season. They will have the Icon, Association, Statement, City, Earned, and Classic jerseys to choose from.
