Earlier this morning, the Philadelphia Eagles have made the hiring of Nick Sirianni as head coach official.

With Sirianni now settled in at the helm, the Eagles are looking to stabilize the rest of their staff. John Clark of NBC reported that fan-favorite Duce Staley asked to be let go from his deal. This opened up a spot for a new running back coach as well. Along with this, the Eagles are looking for a number of other coaching positions. This includes both an offensive and defensive coordinator.

Defensive Coaches

After Jim Schwartz and the team mutually parted ways this offseason, the opening for a new DC came available. Philly quickly kept the Colts and Sirianni connection prevalent. Last night, reports ciruclated that they hired former Colts’ DB’s coach Jonathan Gannon. This morning, that became official:

This move has not been confirmed by the Eagles quite yet, though. Later, Pete Thamel that Auburn’s Tracy Rocker is expected to be the team’s new defensive line coach.

Eagles’ Offensive Coaches

Philadelphia’s search for an offensive coordinator is still ongoing as well.

Most recently, the team reportedly agreed to terms with another Colts’ assistant coach. They hired Kevin Patullo as their offensive pass game coordinator per Tom Pelissero this morning. Also, Albert Breer reported that Nick Sirianni is retaining OL coach Jeff Stoutland.

They have also held a number of newer interviews that came out today. Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles interviewed Chargers’ OC Shane Steichen for their OC vacancy. Meanwhile, Mike Klis reported that Denver’s RB coach Curtis Modkins is interviewing for the OC position also.

Now that Nick Sirianni is officially announced as the team’s new coach, fully expect some of these interviews to become hirings in the near future. As of now, it looks like the Eagles are quickly becoming the “Philadelphia Colts,” which may not be a bad thing considering their recent success…
