According to reports, the Eagles decided that WR Coach Mike Groh would be the best fit for the vacant offensive coordinator role, but that does not mean doom and gloom for Duce Staley, who was a favorite to earn the role.

According to Josina Anderson, the Eagles have carved a new role in the coaching structure; Assistant Head Coach. While still working with the running backs, Staley will now play a big role in helping create the gameplan beyond what he did last year in making key personnel decisions within the communal backfield.

The Eagles have a well adorned and vigilant coach in Staley who has been coaching with the team for seven years now. Staley spent his first two seasons in Philadelphia as an assistant special teams coach, while helping with the running backs develop and eventually being promoted to the full-time running back coach.

Staley has certainly climbed his way up the coaching ladder and it’s great to see the Eagles front office crossing every T and dotting every I to ensure that hard work is indeed rewarded.
