Koby Isaac has come a long way, working hard to evolve his game which he has done. At 6-3 175, he is a complete guard with size, strength, and toughness. Plus, he has a great basketball IQ of a player that stays on the floor in the fourth quarter. Isaac has NBA genes being the cousin of former Detroit Piston guard Darrun Hillard. His father John Isaac has supported and helped get Koby and his brother Kory prepared to evolve for the next level. Koby Averaged 15.5 points 6.7 rebounds 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals for Creekside high school in Fairburn, Georgia. He reclassified from the 2019 class to 2020 as a three-star combo guard. He now plays for Triple Threat prep out of Miami, Florida.
LJ: What are your averages this season?
Koby: 20 ppg 7 RPG 5 apg 4 stls.
LJ: What can you say has been your biggest game this year?
Koby: The last game I recently played against Middle Georgia Prep at the IMG Beach Bash. I dropped 30 pts even though I sat for 10 mins due to foul trouble. We won in OT.
LJ: What teams are recruiting you the hardest?
Koby: I have Tennessee Tech recruiting the hardest right now. I recently just picked up interest from Virginia Tech over this past weekend and also Tulane.
LJ: For those who don’t know, you are the cousin of professional basketball player Darrun Hillard who was a star at Villanova. Has he been able to talk to you about how to play the game? What has he taught you?
Koby: We haven’t been in contact I am allowing him space to focus on his career and new family. I know how important it is to focus with no distractions. And I want to make it on my own name and merit.
LJ: What visits do you have scheduled?
Koby: Tennessee Tech wants me to visit at the end of my season which is in a few weeks or so.
LJ: What do scouts like about you and what has improved about your game that has made you a better player this year?
Koby: Scouts like that I can shoot the ball very well and I score at all 3 levels. I’ve really been working on building strength and getting stronger so that has helped a lot this year with my scoring ability.
I’ve also really improved on my defense I have been told I have pro-like skills which I credit my trainer former NBA player Mark Davis and my coaches at Miami Triple Threat Prep.
Scouts love how I shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. I have been told I have a natural ability to score on all 3 levels. Recently a scout compared my point guard skills to a quarterback because of my vision. This Post Grad year has allowed me to develop physically and mentally. I am much stronger and confident. Not to be arrogant but I feel like I can score at will whether at the basket or beyond the NBA 3. My defense has improved a lot due to my increase in strength and size.
I can guard the 1 thru 3. This is the reason why my steals have been up this year. I am always described as a shooter however I think I am a baller player who can provide whatever a team needs.
LJ: Talk about how talented your brother Kory is. How good do you see him becoming?
Koby: He is naturally gifted but young for his grade. He is a 17 yr. old senior. He is improving every day working with our trainer. He is a pure pg. He has the ability to shock the world however I will not be shocked at all.
LJ: When do you plan to commit?
Koby: I plan on committing on signing day hopefully I have the offer I
want by then
LJ: What type of fit are you looking for in a program to commit to?
Koby: I am looking for a coach and team that appreciate my skills and what I have to offer.
