Temple TKO: Jeison Rosario upsets Philly’s Own Julian Williams by TKO

Philadelphia: As the saying goes, “Saturday Night’s all right for fighting,” and that is what we had at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University. Julian “J-Rock” Williams made his first title defense of the 154lb titles as he took on Jeison Rosario

This was the first time that Julian Williams had fought in his hometown since 2011.

In the first two rounds, both guys were able to land some big shots. In the third round, Williams would land a very nice right hand that would rock Rosario.

The fight would change in round 4 as Rosario would start to tag Williams multiple times and the crowd was in shock at what they were seeing. Some thought they would see a new champion crowned.

The fight would come to end in Round 5 as Rosario would rock Williams a couple times and then went for the finish. The referee stopped the fight and the crowd at Liacouras Center was shocked and stunned by the result.

Fans in attendance for Julian Williams were shocked

After the fight, Rosario would say “As soon as I stepped into the ring, I knew he could not hurt me. I knew that my power was affecting him right away. This is a big victory for me and for the whole Dominican Republic.”

Williams would talk about his performance by saying “Rosario was the better man tonight. It was a great homecoming for my fans and I’m sorry I let them down. What went wrong tonight needs to and will be fixed. We’re going to an immediate rematch and we look forward to returning the favor.”
