Philadelphia Boxer Tevin Farmer ready for next challenge

Philadelphia: As most people know that Philadelphia is a very big boxing town and has produced some great champions like Bernard Hopkins, Joe Fraizer, Danny Garcia, Jesse Hart, Bryant Jennings, Julian Williams and now you can add  Tevin Farmer to the list.

On Monday, Matchroom Boxing would announce that Philadelphia Own Tevin Farmer will defend his IBF Super-Featherweight title against mandatory challenger Guillaume Frenois on Saturday, July 27. Farmer is (29-4-1 6 KOs) while Guillaume Frenois is (46-1-1 12 KOs).

This will be Farmer’s fourth defense of his title that he won back in August 2018 by taking down Billy Dib in Australia. After winning the title, Tevin would take apart James Tennyson in October 2018 in Boston, followed by a victory over Francisco Fonseca in December 2018 in New York and in his last fight, Farmer beat Irishman Jono Carroll at the Liacouras Center on the Campus of Temple University in March 2019.

Tevin Farmer on July 27th fight:
“July 27 will be the fourth defense of my World title in just under one year,” said Farmer. “There is no other World champion as active as me and I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. I’m only 28 years old and I’m still learning and still improving each and every time I step in the ring.

It is no secret that there are major fights out there for me in the division, but I need to take care of business first with Frenois, who has had a lot to say. July 27 is going to be my best performance yet.”

Promoter Eddie Hern:
“I am delighted to add another World title fight to this huge night of boxing on DAZN, Tevin has been America’s most active World Champion over the last year and just needs to get past this test to land the big one in the fall.

“Frenois gave Jono a great fight when they battled to a draw last year and will come to Dallas full of ambition. There will be more to add this week to this stacked card on what promises to be an unmissable night of action with a stunning main event.”

This fight will be on the undercard of Maurice Hooker vs Jose Ramirez unification clash

The fight will take place at College Center Park in Arlington, Dallas and will be live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.
