Philadelphia: It is always great to see your home sports team playing on one of the marquee holidays on the calendar and it looks like Philadelphia fans could be getting an early gift for the 2019-20 season.
On Wednesday, a Report from WIP’S Jon Johnson stated that the Sixers to play on Christmas Day at the Wells Fargo Center for the 2019-20 season.
This would be a very cool thing to see, especially after such an impressive season in 2018. The Last time the Sixers have played at home on Christmas Day was in 1988 when the Sixers defeated the Washington Bullets at the Spectrum.
Over the last couple of years, Disney on Ice has taken over the Wells Fargo Center from December 23-January 4, so maybe there’s a deal in place to free up the center for the Christmas Day game.
The Sixers have played on Christmas Day over the last two seasons, taking down the Knicks during the 2017-18 season & losing to the Celtics in overtime during last time around.
Now the question is, who will the Sixers play? Here are a couple of possibilities:
Celtics: The re-formed rivalry continues to grow as Sixers seek Christmas payback
Raptors: Playoff Rematch
Lakers: Ben Simmons vs LeBron James
Nets: Playoff Rematch
