College Of Charleston Ends Drexel Season in CAA Quarterfinals

North Charleston, SC: As Conference tournaments for March Madness gets underway, we had an interesting matchup as the Drexel Dragons took on College of Charleston in the quarterfinals of the CAA Tournament from North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, SC.  Drexel came into the game at (13-18, 7-11 CAA) and on a 2 game losing streak as their last game was a loss to Northeastern on March 2 while College of Charleston comes to the game at (23-8, 12-6 CAA) and off a win over UNCW also on March 2.

Drexel would open the scoring on basket from James Butler for 2-0 lead, College of Charleston would the games next 14 points for a 14-2 lead before the Dragons would end the run on basket from Juric which made it 16-5 with 12:06 left, it would be an 18-3 run over 6:38 as COFC would lead 18-5 lead with 11:15 left. The Dragons would try to cut into the lead as we would see a nice pass from Wynter to Butler for Dunk which made it 27-16 with 5:29 left in the half.

The College of Charleston had everything going in the first half as they would lead 38-24 at halftime.

In the second half, The dragons would come out to a 9-0 run and got the lead down to 7 at 40-33 with 18:02 left

The Dragons would also have a good defensive play which saw two blocks and leads to a Trevor John 3 pointer

The Dragons would keep fighting but they would run out of gas as College of Charleston took down Drexel 73-61. Drexel season comes to end with a 13-19 record. This is the second year in a row that College of Charleston would end the Dragons season.

College of Charleston will now take on Northeastern in the semifinals tomorrow.
