Philadelphia: it is still early in conference play and all the teams across the country are trying to find their identity and that is what we had on Wednesday night as the LaSalle Explorers took on George Washington Colonials from Tom Gola Arena on the campus of LaSalle University. LaSalle comes into the game with 3-12, 1-2 in A-10 and off a bad loss to Saint Louis on January 12 while George Washington heads into battle with the Explorers at 5-11 1-2 in A-10 and off a win over Richmond also on January 12.
George Washington won the tip to start the game, LaSalle would score the games first 8 points before George Washington got on the board by Armel Potter. This was the start that LaSalle needed as they got off to a very slow start in their loss to Saint Louis on Saturday. The Explorers would play good defense and make things difficult for George Washington. This would be a very low scoring first half as both teams would have their chances to score and just could not finish. LaSalle would take a 23-14 lead into halftime.
In the Second Half, George Washington would get on a run and they cut the Explorers lead down to 2 but LaSalle would answer back. both teams would on a stretch where they would match the other one’s baskets. LaSalle David Beatty would have a Sportscenter Top 10 DUNK

The Explorers would keep the pressure on George Washington and the Colonials would make things interesting down the stretch as LaSalle lead was down to 1 at 53-52 with 2:44 left. George Washington makes 3 pointer for their 1st lead of the game at 55-53, Colonials would retake the lead at 57-56 with 54 seconds left. LaSalle would have a chance to for the game into overtime and it comes up shorty as George Washington steals this game 59-56. This loss will hurt as LaSalle lead the entire way and just could not finish.
The Explorers now fall to 3-13, 2-2 in A-10 and will try to finish this homestand with a win as they take on Rhode Island on Saturday, January 19. The Colonials now go to 6-11, 2-2 in A-10 and attempt to get back to back wins as they host Duquesne on Sunday, January 20.
