It’s been a long, long time coming. Ever since the day he was unceremoniously kicked out of the NovaCare Complex gates, fans have pined for the return of one of the most electric receivers in franchise history. Now, they get their wish. According to NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles have indeed traded for DeSean Jackson.

Even at age 32, Jackson will answer the Eagles’ ‘Need for Speed’. It’s something they have desperately tried to fill ever since Pederson first walked through the doors. From a failed DGB experiment to an inconsistent year from Torrey Smith and an injury to Mike Wallace, Jackson’s ability to create separation and pose a huge vertical threat will be a welcomed addition to Pederson’s offense.

He still averaged over 18 yards per reception last year, adding a further 774 to his tally along with 4 touchdowns. The Eagles finally have their answer to a deep-threat, but there are many questions to be answered.

Jackson is scheduled to make $10M this year and if Jason Peters has been asked to take a pay cut, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Eagles will expect Jackson to do the same. They cannot afford to keep Jackson, Agholor and Jeffery all on the roster at their current price, so something will have to give…but we’ll get into that in an article later this evening.

As for right now, fans can rejoice. Jackson, who has longed for a Philadelphia return at every given opportunity, will be playing in Midnight Green once more. Maybe he will finish his career with the team he started it with…
