Philly College Hoops flyby: Nova enter March Madness mode as tourney play nears

Philadelphia: We are entering the final week of the College Basketball conference play and there is a lot on the line heading into conference tournaments.

Let’s take a look at what is going on with the Philadelphia teams heading into the final week of conference play.

Temple:
The Owls enter this week after going 1-1 with win vs Tulane and loss to Memphis. This week will mark the final 2 games of head coach Fran Dunphy time at Temple as the Owls will take on Uconn on Thursday, March 7 and taken take on UCF on Saturday, March 9.

Villanova:
Jay Wright & the Villanova Wildcats are in their March Madness mode as they went 2-0 last week with wins over Marquette & Butler

This week, the Wildcats will end their regular season with a battle at Seton Hall on Saturday, March 9 with a chance to get to get the number 1 seed for the Big East Tournament.

Penn:
Steve Donahue and the Penn Quakers are still fighting to get the final spot in the Ivy League. The Quakers went 1-1 with a win over Dartmouth & loss to Harvard.

This week, The Quakers will go to battle against Yale & Brown on March 8-9 at the Palestra.

Drexel:
Zach Spiker & the Drexel Dragons had a bad week as they would go 0-2 with losses to Hofstra & Northeastern

The Dragons will now head into the CAA Tournament as they take on
College of Charleston in the Quarterfinals on March 10 at 8:30 PM.

LaSalle:
Ashley Howard & LaSalle Explorers would go 1-1 last week with a win over Davidson & loss to Saint Joseph’s.

This week, the Explorers will take on Dayton on March 6 & then end the regular season on March 9 vs Fordham.

Saint Joseph’s:
Phil Martelli & Saint Joseph’s Hawks would have a very good week by going 2-0 with wins over Fordham & LaSalle.

This week, the Hawks will try to end strong as they take on Rhode Island on March 5 & then at VCU on March 8.
