Philadelphia PA: Conference play in college basketball is in full gear and we had an interesting matchup in the CAA on Thursday night as the Drexel Dragons took on Towson Tigers from Daskalakis Athletic Center on the campus of Drexel University. Drexel comes into the game with 8-11, 2-4 in CAA and off a loss to UNCW on January 12 while Towson comes into battle with the Dragons at 5-13, 1-4 in CAA and off a loss to James Madison also on January 12.
Towson won the tip to start the game and they would open the scoring on the basket from Dennis Tunstall for the 2-0 lead, Drexel would get on the board on a basket from Alihan Demir which tied the game at 2. The Tigers would just make things difficult for the Dragons as they would get the lead up to 11 at 25-14 with 8:34 left. The Dragons would get on a run late in the half and would take their first lead of the game on 3-pointer from Jarvis Doles which made it 32-30. Drexel would take a 35-34 lead into halftime.
In the Second half would be a repeat of the first half as Towson would get the lead back up to 11 at 53-42 with 13:03 left. Just like in the first half, the Dragons would go on a run and they would retake the lead at 60-59 on Alihan Demir basket with 6:01 left, Drexel would get lead up to 6 on three separate times and they would play good defense.
The dragons would not give up as they would comeback and take down Towson 72-66

This was a good win for the Dragons as they did not quit as the Tigers were making things difficult. There would be two technicals fouls on the dragons, first was on James Butler as he would foul out with 16:43 left and the second one was on Jarvis Doles on a dunk which cut the Towson lead to two at 57-55 with 7:55 left in second half.
With the win, the Dragons go to 9-11, 3-4 in CAA and look to make it back to back wins as they take on James Madison on Saturday, January 19. Towson now goes to 5-14, 1-5 in CAA and will try to get back to their winning ways as they take on Delaware also on January 19.
