The big news here is that Fletcher Cox is questionable. After practicing in full capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday, the franchise defensive tackle’s return is still uncertain given the short turnaround. It’s encouraging to see Cox progressing in the right direction and the Eagles defense only allowed 89 total rushing yards through the two weeks they have been without the Man-Dog. It will be interesting to see if Cox does return in a rotational role, or if the Eagles will instead give their franchise defensive tackle the extra rest before they meet the Redskins.

Unfortunately both Beau Allen and Destiny Vaeao are also questionable for tomorrow’s game, meaning that the Eagles could be light in the trenches. They will look to Elijah Qualls and Justin Hamilton to carry the load in a worst-case scenario, although both players have been limited in practice this week.

Defensive end Chris Long is also questionable for Thursday’s game, which may well have prompted the Eagles to re-sign Alex McCalister to their practice squad as an insurance policy.

Wendell Smallwood is also questionable after three days of missing practice completely with the knee injury. There have been no further updates on this, but expect the Eagles to roll into Carolina with Blount, Clement and Barner as their committee battering ram.
