The Eagles Defense suffered a huge scare yesterday when newly acquired starting cornerback Ronald Darby went down after sustaining a horrific non-contact injury. The good news is however, the former Bills standout should be back in Midnight Green much sooner than expected.
#Eagles CB Ronald Darby is out 4-6 weeks with an dislocated ankle, sources say. No major ligament damage. Surprisingly good news.

Darby had a very impressive first outing for the Eagles before he lost his footing when covering Jordan Reed. It’s unclear how the Eagles will broach the absence of Darby for the upcoming games having only kept three cornerbacks active last week. Our writer Chris Coviello broke down the situation and likely outcomes here:
How will Eagles handle cornerback position after Darby injury?
The main thing is that Darby’s injury is far less serious than first imagined and that he is okay. It was a scary sight and things didn’t look good when he was carted off the field during yesterday’s win. The Eagles medical staff will have their hands full and it will be interesting to see just what the Eagles do with Darby during this period, knowing that Sidney Jones is already on the PUP list and may return before the season’s end.
This is a developing story so stay tuned for updates.
