According to an official announcement from the team, the Eagles have waived/injured undrafted cornerback Randall Goforth.

Goforth tore his ACL during a Training Camp practice on Sunday. Injuries plagued the 5’10, 190 lbs, corner’s UCLA career and have unfortunately followed him into the NFL.

While initially recruited as a corner, Goforth made his first splash as a Safety. With 39 tackles, one pick, and three pass defenses, in his first season, it was clear the slightly under sized corner had an eye for the ball. A career high 4 interceptions came in his final season, along with 13 passes defensed. Goforth was competing for a spot at the Eagles cornerback position. An area of the team where no role is cemented with pre-season just 9 days away.

In his place, the Eagles signed another cornerback in the way of Tay Glover-Wright. An undrafted rookie in 2014 who has bounced around the NFL with minimal regular season experience, TGW arrives with a tough road ahead and a chip on his shoulder. Interestingly, he actually played against the Eagles in a pre-season matchup just over one year ago…how did it end? Find out here.
