Last night was one of yet more nail biting nerves for Sixers fans, as for what seemed like the umpteenth time during “The Process”, the prospect who was finally supposed to be the light at the end of the tunnel, walked off injured. In last night’s Summer League win over the Golden State Warriors, number one overall pick, Markelle Fultz was carried off the court with an ankle injury. After what felt like an eternity waiting for clarification on how severe the injury was, we finally received some relieving news!

The Sixers announced via press release that the Washington star underwent X-Rays which revealed a lateral ankle sprain. This will put an end to the Summer League campaign that Fultz was set to enjoy, but he will be back in action within the next two weeks.

Sure, it would have been great to see some more three point excellence and impressive handles, but I think we can call agree that the main thing to note here is that the injury Fultz sustained isn’t one that will hurt his chances of stepping on the court in time for the start of the regular season.
